Of course, the front of the cylinder has been beveled for looks and ease of re-holstering. It may have nothing to do with it, but I find the exterior of the cylinder blow back area easier to clean as well. The single action breaks at about 2 ½ pounds and the DA mode takes 8 lbs of energy.
